Long Term Recommendations to AIA produced by many suggestions from many volunteers (without credit) at both CRAN (AIA Custom Residential Architects Network) and CORA (Congress of Residential Architecture) in order to improve the architect, improve the image of the architect, and promote investing in quality design. Note: This is intended to be a working DRAFT, a working or moving list, open for debate. A parti, if you will.
No mystery here, builders and owners don't like the extra expense. If architects can figure out a way to produce better homes that people want and at a lower cost they will begin to get the majority of work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris.
ReplyDeleteIts about creating and selling the added value, which doesn't exist in some circumstances, and isn't understood by the end user in other circumstances...but lets try and keep the comments to suggestions or edits on that item you are posting to. Unless you question the intergrity of the suggestion itself.
Fondly.
Dave
Yes, I am questioning the integrity of the suggestion itself.
ReplyDeleteI think this is already well understood -it is cost.
Perhaps, it should be:
9. Produce research and educational material which demonstrate the value of architects.
